Methods of casting

Foundry bronze
Foundry bronze sculptures are made from pure molten bronze. A wax impression is taken from the original mould, which is then coated with a special plaster and placed in a kiln to melt away the wax. The displacement area left by the wax is then filled with molten bronze.

Bronze resin
Bronze resin sculptures are made from a mixture of bronze powders and resin which is applied to the surface of the mould. After this has set it is backed up with resin and fibreglass. The core of the sculpture can then be weighted and strengthened with resin. The sculpture is removed from the mould and buffed, stained, and a series of waxes are applied.
